It appears that Stripe *has* created [a new page](https://support.stripe.com/questions/requirements-for-accepting-tips-or-donations ) on their new "requirements" but this has been tacked onto the existing marketing material that was mentioned, and actively misleads with terms.
they explicitly state that tips require an attached good or service which… is, not a tip. so, they're still intentionally remaining vague on the terms and not really looking to confirm stuff.
a few folks have suggested that they may be using ChatGPT or some other LLM to scan for violations, and I will leave finding loopholes in that as an exercise for the viewer.
in particular, my best suggestion is to push all the vagueness in their guidelines as far as you can until they cave and update them. feel free to offer worthless content and other nontangibles in exchange for donations to continue to use their services. explicitly find loopholes in the policy because it is, quite frankly, bullshit. I don't think that they have any legal backing whatsoever, and whether the desire to end mutual aid on Stripe is due to their own decisions or someone they work with, I really don't care.
switch to other payment processors if you can, or slip past their rules. do what you need to make things work.
