Given all the shit that's going down out there *handwaves toward the window*, I honestly don't think it's very likely to be a good year overall. So "happy new year" is kind of sticking in my throat/fingers when I try to say it.

What I do think, though, is that there will be lots of opportunities for small personal joys for each of us. So that's what I'm wishing for: for my household, and for each of yours. May the small joys be numerous and last as long as possible.
