I do understand that this function works as expected, hence not a bug. But your opinion, if I understand you correctly, is that this function is not good. I wondered if you are alone in this opinion, if someone else already has filed a change proposal, and if so its status (and likely some opinions in the report thread). It is opensource, so it should be traceable.
