There are whole group of people who talk about freedom who really just want to be the ones who decide who is oppressed. They complain about Elon at Twitter then flock to Mastodon with a federated version of lesser and potentially more petty authorities. They flock to bluesky and seem mostly interested in controlling how banning and censorship is wielded.

Almost all of those projects are the absolute furthest thing form censorship resistance regardless of their claims of a decentralized tech stack.

I’m not even against clients or relays moderating content per se. It’s perfectly fair for different products to address different audiences. I’m very opposed to control over who can have access to or be banned a protocol, who is allowed to create legal content, and centralized control over your social graph. Nostr can fix so much of this.
