Jews aren't allowed to risk their lives to follow Jewish law. If the choice is eat non-kosher or starve, you eat. If the choice is violate the Sabbath or a sick person can't get medical care, you violate the Sabbath.
There are only 3 commandments you're not allowed to break to save your own life. One of them is murder: you can't kill an innocent person to save yourself.
Think about this when you hear #Israel saying that killing all those noncombatants is the only way to take out #Hamas.
