I am thinking of switching from proton mail to tuta mail.
the reasons are several
1. i have redundant services and i want to eliminate some of that redundancy, i think proton covers too many services instead of concentrating on improving the ones they already have.
2. proton services work like crap on android and linux and depend on google services for push notifications.
3. apparently some of their services mention that they are open source but the supposed links to the code point to the repos of other services and I get the impression that they are lying with that and only proton vpn and proton mail are open source.
as an extra I will say that tutanota has its own application for both android and linux proton barely has a vpn for linux that although it has improved still is far behind window and mac
now the question is
is there anything I should know about tuta (formerly tutanota) that is important to know before making the switch?
I would appreciate you answers please
