1. So I registered a domain, and uploaded a json file…. That works for me.
My suspicion is important person A could do the same. The issue is that others could kinda spoof by creating a similar name/domain pair.
2. That said here is a business idea for you. Go register the domain significant-or-important-nostriches.com (just check still available) accept and verify for a recurring fee. Then also maintain a list or series of lists associated with this. Presumably people would trust the lists and users verified by that website. Make the standard bet for verification high
3. Another model would be to just maintain either via verification or other process a list or lists of people of significance, possibly by category. This could be volunteer or pay service depending on effort and usefulness.
