One good thing that I believe will happen to a CBDC for only a short period of time will be that since stablecoins like Tether and USDCoin do not have their own blockchain and rely upon other blockchains like those on Ethereum or Solana, I imagine there will ways to make stablecoin transactions more private through sidechain or L2 projects, attempting to bring privacy transactions back to the way of cash.

However, this will not help stablecoins in the long run because of 1. the fiat link and 2. coins with superior privacy features i.e Monero. This means any potential CBDC will go down the crapper once people get more educated and informed.
