- Reading too much.
- Focusing on my reading too much.
- Completing math assignments too fast.
- Using words they felt were above my grade level.
- Doing too much self-study outside of class.
- Failing to anticipate instructions they had not given me.
- Saying thank you too much.

I was a quiet, intellectually curious, well-read, polite child. I was also increasingly angry and alienated.
