On the one hand, I agree with you that as a consumer, it should be my choice. On the other hand, if I sold you a copy of an app on one platform, I shouldn’t be forced to make it easy for you to use it on another (especially if said platform didn’t exist earlier). This is where I think sideloading and the like is the happy medium. Let the power users be power users, but don’t force devs to make all their apps universal at the potential detriment to their business.
