In disability-related news they've release two new Barbie Dolls, one is blind, and one has Down Syndrome. The one with Down Syndrome is black, and the advertisements mention it quite a bit. I love to see more black representation especially disabled black representation However what is missing from the description of the blind doll is her race. One of my students who is black and blind asked me if the doll who is blind was also black and my answer is I don't know because they don't say!
