My ex's granny, poor soul, I don't know how old she was when her mind started to go, but she wasn't old at all. I would say maybe her 50s. Her hair went white early so when we were kids she always seemed old to look at, but she can't possibly have been more than her 50s, if even that. She wasn't old when she died either if I remember. He daughter had a great fear of it all her life, she did develop it herself but she was in her 80s then, and it was after a fall and then she had another accident and both times had a bang on the head.
