Redout: Enhanced Edition is, in my opinion, the best antigravity futuristic racing games hands down. I haven’t played the sequel yet, so I can’t comment on it. But the first games is superb.
What makes it so much better than Antigraviator is the controls. People can talk all day about graphics, and yes, Redout’s graphics are great. But what makes this game live or die is the controls. Specifically, can I actually steer the ship?
Yes, what Redout does that Antigraviator doesn’t is give me the actual ability to strafe. I’m not constantly crashing into walls. And while you definitely have to be precise in the steering, at least it’s fair about it.
I feel like I’m getting a taste of the future, and it feels great.
You don’t need a whole lot of specs to run this game. You need a 2.6Ghz i3 processor, 4GB RAM, GTX 560 or equivalent, and 6GB space. This was made for Windows, but you can run it fine on Linux via Proton. It’s also VR compatible.
If you can only choose one antigravity futuristic racer, pick this one.
