thinking about submitting some of my work (for free) to an academic journal so that the editors (who work for free) can send it out to highly trained reviewers (who work for free) in the hope that eventually, in two or three years, the work I have given away (for free) may be published in a paywalled journal that charges extortionate, eye-watering subscription fees that my university pays so that I, too, can support the 37% profit margins of some fucking corporate monster like elsevier.
