I had a discussion with my tax accountant about real estate investing as a way to save on taxes. I told him I just invest in index funds and think the amount of time and energy spent on a real estate side hustle is better spent focused on work and earning better bonuses.
He agreed.
YMMV but this approach works for me as a big tech employee.
