My 10 year old son is in Year 6 in primary school, the big kids. Each Yr 6 is given a new kid, aged 4, to look after at school. My son's "buddy" is a recent immigrant from Hong Kong. My son just told me that some of the other kids were calling him Kungfu Panda, China boy and Covid. These kids are 6 years old.
I don't think they're racist, but it's sad they live in a world where they learn slurs so young.
