WhiteTemplar (npub13qm…8dpz) They call me Spitfire :pepeOK: (npub1c9k…727g) verita84 :Debian_logo: :firefox: :bing: :android: (npub1zna…wtpl) The Nazis came after the Confederates but their symbols both trigger the same people, our enemies. You'll likely get mad at me but the Pepe Wojak shit provokes the same people, it's just not a flag. Point being, that stuff is very much a product of our time.
My point is not "Nazis are bad" as much as it is "Nazis are gone" and we're kind of our own thing now, and we should own that. Nazism was a German political movement in the 20th century. Their ideas don't really map 1:1 with our own. It's fun to read about them and I understand exactly why people like to romanticize them, much like the Confederates, I just think we should be our own thing and own it.
Let fallen dogs rest. But that's not going to stop me from siding with people just because they disagree with me on this point. It's kind of a minor point in the grand scheme of things. Once you figure out what your views are you more or less know who your enemies are anyway.
