Just watched Interstellar, and it occurs to me that to have opened the wormhole in the first place, there had to have been humans descended from Plan B (or perhaps, some variant of Plan B in a slightly altered timeline, given that there would not have been a wormhole in the first place). Seems like a pretty wild logistical issue considering that there would have been very little in the way of potential parentage, though I guess some of the marine robots could have served as parents (and presumably, automated systems could have taken the zygotes and birthed them, in lieu of human surrogate mothers).
I initially wanted to think of it as the cinematic equivalent of an MC Escher piece, but I guess there's some plausible way to have gotten there that isn't circular. Just makes for a very weird timeline to imagine it taking place over.
And yes, I do mean I just saw the movie for the first time; I was busy in 2009.
