My best guess would be an attempt to gather information and asses what is being posted in a more easily digestible manner. It is also being used to catfish people into revealing information about themselves too. Overall I believe it is an attempt to stifle freedom of speech by trying to shape and distort narratives. If you can't stop freedom of speech. You can bend it to your will with ai manipulation.
