npub17esnvwnpunszha3whjk4y4xe0g7u8maswrul49lgg4sqpxanlkjsjkclcm (npub17es…clcm) SMTP email lacks quite a lot of flexibility (and especially sane semantics around encrypted messages) and essentially assumes reliable infrastructure, which is what you're relying on there too.
Note that I keep insisting on the SMTP part because Fidonet & NNCP do not share SMTP's limitations.
Of those though, only NNCP has any particular provisions for encryption.
