Opening the registration for the Arab Culture and Science Conference Award

The Dubai Cultural and Scientific Foundation has announced the opening of registration for the second round of the 'Arab Poetry Award' held in the name of the late poet Hamad Khalifa Bushahab. The award is concerned with Arabic poetry in its three forms: vertical poetry, free verse, and prose poetry. The most important condition for participation is that the contestant must submit only one poem, in one of the three categories. The poem must be original, well-crafted, and have strong imagery and creativity, in addition to being free of grammatical and linguistic errors. The poem must also be suitable for the award and has not been previously published in any book, magazine, or electronic medium, nor has it been recited at any poetry festival or evening. The contestant must also be at least 30 years old as of March 1st of each year. The award will exclude any poems that do not meet the conditions. The prize money for the three categories is AED 150,000, with AED 50,000 for each category. A selection committee will choose a winner in each category, who will receive AED 50,000 and a medal bearing the name of the award. The registration deadline is February 20, 2025.
