It’s happened many times before yet here we are talking about it which is as powerful of a reminder that there can be that we have survived these events as a species in the past.
If it happens again, we will almost certainly survive again as a species.
As individuals and families and survival/prepper groups, there are certainly choices that can be made to improve survival chances. Bear in mind these choices are generally major life choices involving relocating and changing lifestyle to one full of off grid homesteading and cottage industry.
Basically, due to the fact that we do not know the day nor the hour, one would pretty much have to voluntarily place one’s self under house arrest assuming the house has a well designed survival bunker. There would be some time to get to safety but I would expect seismic activity to make that process of getting to the bunker from any distance of separation to be potentially very difficult.
Simply being out on a regular supply run would potentially be enough to prevent return home to the bunker’s safety.
Almost any choice to improve one’s survival odds comes with tradeoffs. The bigger the improvement in survival odds, the bigger the tradeoffs will impact our everyday lives.
