At one point, I wondered to myself if there should be a legal equivalent of a "mercy rule" found in some high school sports, where if one team is losing so badly, the game is called out of mercy for the embarrassment of the losing side.
Trump is currently losing this trial so badly it's almost cruel to allow it to continue, even though his arrogance prevents him from conceding the case by pleading guilty himself.
