some more distinctions people should understand
- a platform is built on a system
- systems can use protocols
- systems can attack protocol developers using a method invented/popularised by Microsoft called "embrace, extend and extinguish" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend,_and_extinguish this is what primal seems to be trying to do - and i don't think it's going to work because it's essentially an attempt to make bitcoin twitter, which is not gonna rack up userbase - and this is also why bitcoin content is so dominant in the protocol, because of primal, and primal also integrate their own wallet and have actively impeded the development of other wallets integrating using the wallet integration protocol of nostr (NWC mostly)
the key problem that nostr is about solving is eliminating the advantage of a system, but as SilberWitch (npub1l5s…gx9z) will talk to you endlessly about, teh protocol has the weakness of being dispersed and the funding going into it is very small and often even nonexistent - having said that, i think that there is sufficient quality in several of the protocol-respecting clients for this to hold up against the onslaught of primal
