Advantage is that they often come with a web control panel, like cPanel or Plesk to help you manage your sites, DBs, domains, email, files etc.

Ionos offer a free Plesk license with their VPS, which are more powerful than shared hosting, but a similar price. I'd recommend them, it's where I host my sites.
