Friend was talking about how there was a hoax that Godzilla vs. King Kong had different endings depending on which country you were from (i.e. Kong wins in the US version, Godzilla wins in the Japanese version). And this hoax apparently got repeated for years until the internet debunked it.

Then he said "what else is still just bullshit?"

Man, I can think of a hoax repeated for years that got debunked by the internet. A big one.
