“It's like the captain of a sinking ship urging people not to get in the lifeboats because they undermine the confidence in the ship and might lead to everyone abandoning it.
The problem is it's true in a narrow sense - people getting out of a hyperinflating fiat currency does accelerate the destabilisation.
That's not a bitcoin problem - as long as there's any alternative to USD (gold, equities, pokemon cards), people will shift their wealth out of fiat however they can.
But our leaders shouldn't be asking us to go down with the ship in order for the Fed to save face. They should be looking after our interested and telling working people how to protect their salaries.
The job of a responsible captain is to give the order to abandon ship if that becomes the safest option in a crisis.”
