Venezuela has "free" medical services in public hospitals in the city, but the big problem is that they are all under-supplied. Patients and family members have to buy and bring absolutely everything that is used, from the smallest things like gloves, needles, serum, etc. to medicines and surgical materials. In the end, all of this ends up being very expensive and it is very common to see people asking for money outside of these hospitals trying to raise money for their families.
The central (public) hospital in my city has many stories of people who get infections after surgery due to the poor hygiene of the hospital.
There are private clinics that can offer a much better service but they are extremely expensive and usually people can only afford them with medical insurance which costs approximately $150 a month and covers hospital expenses of up to $15,000 a year...
Personally i do not have medical insurance so I am up in the air with God's protection, after all this experience in the future I would like to have one but at this moment it is not possible for me to afford it, so i'm taking care of My health as much as i can to be healthy
