there's a European initiative of an "identity wallet". It's supposedly made in a way where you can e.g. verify your age, and that would be "I'm over 18 [yes|no]" type of information, and nothing else. This sounds great, as long as services don't query for data they aren't actually needing. The scary part is that said wallet would hold much much more information about you. I do want to use something else than bank codes to verify my purchases, and the SIM-based mobile certificate is a bit clunky to use.
