Top tips from somebody with absolutely minimal training in handling radioactives, seeing as I've just seen my third hobbyist incident (yeah, probably that one, not linking to it cos I don't want to be seen to criticise, they dealt with it right as far as I can tell.)
1: Bag the suspected thing, very gently. Bag it again. Stop anyone going near it.
2: Clean your hands at the nearest available spot. A lot. A shower isn't a daft idea.
3: Phone the fire brigade. They will know who to contact.
