North Korean Spy Satellite Crashes Into Sea
North Korea’s attempt to put its first spy satellite into space failed on Wednesday as the rocket crash landed in the sea, but still sparked Japan and South Korea to urge citizens to take shelter.
Seoul confirmed it had retrieved debris presumed to be from the launch - which breaks UN Security Resolutions banning Pyongyang from ballistic launches - from waters 200km from its island of Eocheongdo.
North Korea confirmed it would attempt a second launch after investigating what caused the thrust failure between the first and second stages of separation.
