Permaculture seems to attract intellectuals and academics from the left more than from the right. A podcast I follow leans hard left, which is fine. I have no issue with someone being left or right. My experience is just that the folks further to the left in this space are more condescending and toxic.

Maybe when enough MAGA folks get all permie or regen ag, I could say the same about them...it just hasnt been my experience that anyone with a conservative or right lean in the permaculture or regen ag space has the same tone or attitude. They mostly seem to be positive and uplifting. Even folks from the preparedness community...less doom and gloom from preppers in the space than outside. Just my experience though.

I actually lean further left than you might think on some issues. Mostly because, as you mentioned, we live in the real world. The real world being a huge government thats followed the road of good intentions to sometimes not so great places...but is where we are so it is what it is.

As for my place on the political spectrum, I guess it depends what the issue is. In general, I dont know that I fit anywhere on that spectrum at the moment. Maybe that makes me anarchist in ideals but a centrist in practice?

Not trying to get to down in the weeds.

There just seems to be more hate, jealousy, and negativity from that side of the space and I was puttinf that out there to see if I was crazy or not.
