I just read "La Guerre de Troie n'aura pas lieu" by Jean Giraudoux ("The Trojan War will not take place", translated as "Tiger at the Gates"): a theater play written between the two world wars that works as a prelude to the Iliad. Not strictly a militant writing (said the author himself), and even though it is a tragedy, I found it nonetheless inspiring. I was touched by the relentless antiwar actions of the main characters (ultimately foiled by enemies within their own side).
