has anyone come across a course framed as "pre-category theory"*, probably at the undergrad level in math or CS? (*in the sense of "pre-calculus", not the theory of semigroupoids.)

i'm imagining the curriculum would include order theory (posets, lattices, etc.) and algebraic structures (monoids, groups, etc.).

some "discrete structures" courses include these topics but usually seem to sacrifice depth for breadth (e.g., spending more time on formal languages, automata, and computability).
