what's particularly pernicious is that we see this thing with orange man and all of the phony cases against him while honest to goodness criminals run rampant. the illusion of holding the "powerful" to account without exactly doing anything is a feature, not a bug, of the current power hegemony. those guys care more about a payout than they care about the letter of the law, so shit like Burisma just continues unabated.
