If the gate we were leaving at were any further away, we would have never made it. It was by the skin of our teeth that we got the fuck out of Atlanta yesterday.
By the way, the claimed the delay was weather-related. Florida is experiencing... well, Florida weather right now. They claim this was the root cause of our delay. It wasn't. our flight path took us over the Gulf of Mexico specifically to avoid Florida, and the pilot even confirmed it. So the root cause they gave us was utter bullshit as well.
