I always thought it was cool that Ralph Merkle, an underperforming student with no knowledge of cryptography, made one of the biggest contributions to solving public key cryptography by simply being able to approach seemingly impossible problems in a novel way.
You don’t have to be a math savant or a supercoder to make a huge difference in the fight against a pending dystopian technocracy.
