US Economy Adds 275,000 Jobs in February

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the U.S. economy added 275,000 jobs in February, exceeding economists' expectations. Unemployment rose by 0.2% to 3.9%. President Joe Biden stated that the total number of jobs created since he took office in 2021 is nearly 15 million, and unemployment has remained under 4% for the longest period in over 50 years. Job gains were seen in health care, government, food services, social assistance, and transportation and warehousing. The bureau revised downward the job gains reported in December and January. The revisions were due to additional reports received from businesses and government agencies and the recalculation of seasonal factors.
