not so much weather as light. one of the central themes is the complicated relationship of light and dark. (this ties into the theme of Lucifer literally being the 'light-bringer.') light means different things in different contexts. e.g. sometimes light reveals, but sometimes it obscures things by being too bright. similarly shadow can be sinister, or protection from light that is too strong, i.e. shade.
