I wonder how hard it would be these days to simply write an end-to-end encrypted message app for android?
It doesn't need to make it onto an app store, it can just be an .apk file.
Like, make a keypair, show the public key as a QR code, get someone else's public key as a QR code, you have end-to-end encrypted comms to them by whatever indirect means available (dropbox, fediverse posts, stego'd jpegs on instagram)
PGP is 20th century tech. Trying to control it is 20th century thinking.
