It’s not “really” surprising that there is no mainstream interrogation of “market rates” “what the market can bear” “it’s a supply issue” bullshit and not the impact of corporate ownership of housing and the imperative of squeezing as much profit as possible. It all get reduced to a discussion of small time, “mom and pop” landlords… every building we’ve rented in in #ottawa has been corporate owned. Zero discussions of rent controls at all #ontario #cdnpoli
