The other nice thing about paper maps is you get perspective for planning your route and the context of a region. And paper maps have geographic place names that online maps often lack. Although, I have recently put Organic Maps on my phone and I'm finding mountain peaks and ranges and other geographic place names are much more prevalent on Open Maps than on G-maps. G-maps suck on geographic place names.
