During the reign of Emperor Maximian, Emilian, a simple baker from Durostor, refused to worship idols. Despite threats, he boldly smashed the pagan idols in the marketplace. He was immediately arrested, and after confessing his faith in Christ, was subjected to horrific tortures, including being burned alive. His final words were a prayer, giving up his spirit to God amidst the flames. Let us pray to Saint Emilian for strength in our faith.
