I think much could be said about group design, especially as it relates to notifications.
Very few Nostr apps have functional notifications, in my view. Either I get inundated with notifications for minor events and lose track of things, or it is all but impossible to see notifications in context.
The thing is, what should a notification show, and how does an app show what is necessary without being overwhelming?
Take tags. You get tagged, it's 20 replies down in a thread. Now you have to read the whole thread, including various branches, to get the necessary context. And if your app doesn't have good thread navigation, you're straight outta luck.
And that's just for "vanilla" social media feeds. Throw in closed-group features and you have to solve the same problems that Slack and Discord have tried to solve, on top of all the standard social media app challenges.
This is the landscape in which Nostr apps are trying to live. That might be fuel for a good podcast discussion. 🤔
