Dunkag (npub1gw8…4k6k) Diva(A)Live is different in that outside of pretty much being in a different universe, the battles are nowhere as high stake as the previous seasons. It takes a slice of life approach where the main characters' goal is simply to reach the top. The format shown in Diva(A)Live is the current format in JP and the format EN uses.
Admittedly I can understand why they didn't follow up on the previous 4 seasons. Would be really difficult to do that given the ending of season 4 making it abundantly clear that the Selector battles were over for good with no real space to make them continue.
