True, but it's a lot easier to fix your bugs than trying to get an issue ticket through a bureaucracy to the developer that will ultimately be tasked with fixing it. And in the case you brought up earlier, they also have legacy issues to deal with - which means they might not be able to fix it without breaking 100s or 1000s or more paying customers. And as I tell some of $employer's customers - that ain't gonna' happen.  Just had a bug last week which was in this category. It's a simple bug with a one-line fix, but fixing it breaks a whole lot of existing saved report queries for thousands of customers and impacts their business decisions. So the bug will unfortunately remain.
