One thing I came to understand last year, is that a good argument wont always sway someone else unless it's the influence that they need at that time.

In other words, it's more about what can influence a person more then it is about your perfectly sound argument.

Someone else can give the exact same argument and it may get through simply because of things that can't be accounted for. Hormones, the weather, what they ate for lunch, etc.

This used to frustrate me. Now I just accept and move on.
