I definitely think this would diminish the use of adblock specifically, but anyone bothered enough would still have a solution. It’s a bit like youtube plugging a leak in a dam with their finger. That one hole isn’t the problem. The only way they could really stop people from using adblocker is forcing a YT account, completely blocking API access, making them have YT installed locally etc… So long as YouTube is externally accessible at all, there will more than likely be a decently convenient way to block ads on it. For that matter, I doubt it will be long before Ublock and others find a way around it
