I've said it before and I'll say it again. Every false religion has had a figure, a visage appear that is not God to tell of a new gospel, one that sounds pleasant to the ears of men who seek to pay lipservice and comfort themselves of the punishment deserved from our sin
Always keep in mind that God has always, in every single case appeared to His prophets and apostles directly. The Word has taken different forms but always distinguishes Himself, whether as fire or cloud or the figure that appears to be a man or as Jesus. Nobody does God's work but Him, nobody speaks for the Lord, He speaks for Himself and has never been distant and needs NOBODY else to communicate for Him or do work on His behalf. He is all powerful all loving all merciful all forgiving. If He weren't then He'd require help or need another to communicate, because that speaks to a weakness or insufficiency, an imperfection that God cannot do something or chooses not to do something which then denigrates His perfect attributes
Every cult and false religion has done this. An "angel" or "saint" has appeared before a supposed apostle or prophet(which of course there is no evidence for in any of these cases and the tales are so embellished and apocryphal that when these anti-Christs try to add it to the bible it sticks out like a sore thumb) to tell them of meriting salvation or of another figure who comes after Christ because His crosswork was insufficient. Exactly what satan wants you to believe, that God isn't good enough and you need "more"
