Now the obvious counterargument is that MAGA would be censorious anyway, and that's true. But you know what would be different if the majority liberal centre and the left - both reformist and radical - had maintained a firm, principled stance in support of freedom of expression? Instead of normalising partisan censorship.
We would be able to make a clear and unambiguous case that MAGA censorship is new and dangerous. The unaligned would be much more likely to oppose it. But we can't.
